Building Our Future Together
Over the last 15 years, we've won important victories, but Alabama is still a place where the fight for dignity and human rights continues. ACIJ is a key force for change, and with more support from people who understand the need for a strong, coordinated national strategy, we have the potential to build an even bigger movement. Our members believe that bringing together people of color, immigrants, and communities from all backgrounds is essential to creating real, lasting change.
From the inception of ACIJ, we have prioritized the importance of building alliances. We understand that our mission cannot be accomplished in isolation. We have actively participated in coalitions and collaborated with groups such as FIRM, NAACP, and others.
We engage in Grassroots Organizing, where people like you unite to empower one another, enhance our communities, and work towards making Alabama a better place.
ACIJ believes in community building. We believe in creating strong relationships. We believe in our right to grow, rooting ourselves where we feel at home.

We imagine a world in which people can openly migrate. A world in which we do not label human beings as “illegal” for simply existing, building a life.
We have the right to flourish in our communities. At ACIJ we imagine a future where people can freely live, grow, and build connections.
