We also offer crucial information and strategies for a rapid and effective response to ICE raids and immigration enforcement actions.
Labor Rights
Immigrants are key to our community’s workforce, driving economic growth and bringing innovation. Their cultural diversity also enriches our community. We work to protect workers' rights by offering workshops on fair wages, safe conditions, and overtime, among other topics. We support day laborers, domestic workers, and other low-wage and immigrant workers in Alabama, helping them stand up for their rights, maintain their dignity, and seek justice.
Legal Services
ACIJ is in the process of acquiring recognition from the DOJ to offer affordable essential legal services to ensure access to justice and protect the rights of individuals across various socio-economic backgrounds. These services cover a range of legal assistance, including advice, representation, and document preparation, offered at reasonable costs and proportionate to the financial means of the persons seeking assistance. Affordable legal services play a crucial role in promoting equal access to the legal system, preventing discrimination, and empowering people to address legal issues reliably and effectively.
